Don’t be put off by the ugliness of the area - this really is a great place for waterbirds

All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in South Finland’

If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Despite being overshadowed by a particularly ugly power station, this is a terrific wetland site offering really close views of lots of waterbirds, of which Slavonian Grebes are the most noteworthy.

There are two observation platforms overlooking the pools but the birds are so tame, you don’t really need the help of towers.

They do make good places for the Black-headed gulls to perch on, so be careful where you rest your elbows.
