The best place in Europe for Dupont’s Larks. Look out for Pin-tailed and Black-bellied Sandgrouse and Great and Little Bustards too
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in North Spain’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

This is a rubbish shot of the Dupont’s Lark site near Osera (site 6 in my book). It’s taken with a really slow shutter speed because it’s almost dark. Dawn is the best time to look for the larks. The bare field on the left is a useful landmark. Park and listen on the brow of the hill before you get that far.
It was so dark, my camera tried to film it using flash.
This is the track leading up to the site. Aim for the pylon on the right and continue until you’re close to that open field.
