Although this book  was brand new in 2010, it has recently (2017) been substantially updated providing details of many more of the best birding sites in the area. The original showed you in the clearest possible way, exactly where to go to look for the most exciting birds of northern Spain - Wallcreepers, Lammergeiers, Great Bustards, Little Bustards, Snowfinches, Black Woodpeckers, Dupont’s Larks - and this new version gives you even more precise information on where to find many of these birds.

Describing the 2010 edition, Dave Gosney wrote:

‘This is much more than just an update of my previous book, ‘Finding Birds in Northern Spain’. Compared to that book, this one covers a much smaller area - from the mountains of the Picos de Europa to the plains of Lleida - in even more detail than before. it is based largely on recent visits to the area in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and is full of first-hand observations showing exactly where I found the best birds.’
