The Dupont’s Larks have gone and Lesser Grey Shrikes are very hard to find but this is still a great area for birds such as Little Bustard, Roller, Black-shouldered Kite, Black Wheatear and Pin-tailed Sandgrouse

All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in North Spain’

If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Plains south of Lleida

This is an area called Mas de Melons - particularly good for Rollers and sandgrouse.

This site, between a canal and an aerodrome (site 1 in my book) has previously been good for Lesser Grey Shrike but, like many other birders, I dipped here in 2009.

The aerodrome is still great for Calandra Lark and we had Little Bustard and Great Spotted Cuckoo too.
