This is an updated (2017) version of the 2011 book which supplements the earlier title ‘Finding Birds in Morocco; the deserts’, covering all the best sites in the rest of Morocco, north of Goulimine.

This latest version provides many updates giving new information on how to find birds like Andalusian Hemipode, Double-spurred Francolin, Marsh Owl, Levaillant’s Woodpecker, White-rumped Swift, (African) Crimson-winged Finch and Maghreb Wood Owl, based largely on Dave’s almost annual visits to Morocco since the last book was published.

In 2011 Dave Gosney wrote:

‘Although most birders visit Morocco to experience the magnificent deserts with their many special birds, there are also a number of other sites in the country that offer great birding and a further selection of highly sought-after species such as Atlas Flycatcher, Double-spurred Francolin, Marsh Owl, Black-crowned Tchagra, Tristram’s Warbler, Bald Ibis and Seebohm’s Wheatear’. This book describes sites for all those species in much more detail than any other publication, giving you the best possible chance of seeing them if you visit Morocco.’
