Tucked away in a quiet bit of countryside, this is a delightful spot with 3 attractive lakes. White-headed Duck and Purple Gallinule should be easy to find. I had Red-knobbed Coot and Little Bittern as well and Marbled Duck and Ferruginous Duck also occur here. However, you get much better views at Laguna de Medina, for example.
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in Andalucia’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Lagunas de Espera
This is the ‘view’ of the first lake (Laguna de Hondilla) from behind the ‘visitor centre’
And this is what you might see if the water wasn’t so obscured by bushes
You get better views of the next lake (Laguna Salada de Zorilla), especially from this raised vantage point by the path.
The third lake (Laguna Dulce de Zorrilla) requires a bit of a walk but has birds that are difficult to find at the other lakes
