Batsfjord is another scenically beautiful area. The bay is great for King Eider, at least in winter

This is the plateau en route to Batsfjord in June. What must it be like in winter?

The lakes en route to Batsfjord are terrific for breeding ducks and divers

Around the shores of this lake near Batsfjord we had a feeding flock of over 20 Long-tailed Skuas

And the surrounding scrubby areas had both species of redpoll - this is where I filmed Arctic Redpoll
