A fantastic place for waterbirds throughout the year but especially in early may when hundreds of geese gather here.
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in Estonia’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Aardla
In 2010 there was so much water it was impossible to reach the tower
This area at the north end of Aardla (site 2 in my book) is usually wet meadows but in 2010 the pools were deep enough to support breeding Red-necked Grebes
This view shows distantly the dead trees in the middle of the reserve that make a useful landmark and are also good for Lesser ‘peckers
