The boardwalk path at Ilmakkiaapa takes you through terrific habitat for breeding waders. This is the view looking back from the tower. In the other direction is a bird lake with scoters and Smew.

Notice how the wet areas of the bog are enclosed within rings of higher, partly vegetated ground. Bogs like this are just perfect for Broad-billed Sandpiper.
