Ronda itself sits spectacularly above steep cliffs on which Lesser Kestrels and Peregrine Falcons breed. By driving around through the nearby mountain ranges you should see numerous other raptors, including Bonelli’s Eagle, plus Black Wheatear, Rock Sparrow, Chough, Rock Bunting and, at least in winter, Alpine Accentor. Eagle Owl and White-rumped Swift are also possible.
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in Andalucia’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

The cliffs of Ronda support many of the most sought-after species in the area. This is the view from the area of gardens near the bull-ring.
