In March 2010, after an exceptionally wet winter, the areas in front of the reeds had reverted to this attractive-looking wet meadow but still not as impressive as the lake that used to form here - big enough to have lots of herons and wildfowl including breeding Ferruginous Duck. By July 2010 the whole area was dry again. The structure you can see is a hide made of reeds. You have to flush stuff to get to the hide but if you wait long enough birds might come back.

Phasouri reedbeds

Potentially one of the best wetlands on the island but the water table has fallen so recently it has been mostly dry. The reeds themselves still have harriers, herons and Penduline Tits.
