The routes along the northern edge of the Jbel Bani mountain range have now  been opened to tourists, giving birders a new part of Morocco to explore. This area will surely have more sites for species such as Desert Sparrow, Egyptian Nightjar, Spotted Sandgrouse, Scrub Warbler and Fulvous Babbler just waiting to be discovered; Lichtenstein’s Sandgrouse is more likely here than anywhere else. Here’s a chance to break new ground.

All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in Morocco: the deserts’

If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages
